The 3rd and final installment of the bird series, the Phoenix is an iconic symbol for regeneration. At the time of its death, the Phoenix catches on fire and burns. Then out of the ashes an egg is produced and the Phoenix is born again. After my transplant I felt as if I was born again. After nearly dying, I was born a new and had a second chance on life, just as the Phoenix.
