Monkey on my Back

In this painting, I am dealing with the fact that I will always be thinking in the back of my mind about what has happened to me. With the medicine and the surgery, it will always be a weight that I will carry around with me. As I get older though, I found that the burden I have to bear becomes lighter and lighter as I realize that all this was a blessing.
