Gift of Life

When I received my transplant it was literally a gift of life. But in order to receive that gift someone had to pass away. This painting is meant to show the other side of things. While everyone is morning the passing of a loved one, I am celebrating a new beginning for me. The painting is done in mostly undertones of black and white, but I am in full color, showing the contrast between life and death.
