Jack Hoyle was born in Shelby, NC. As a child he was sick and he used art as a way to deal with his sickness. While other kids were out playing sports, Jack was inside drawing because he could not keep up with the other kids. After finishing high school, Jack had to put his college career on hold because he had to be hospitalized while waiting on his transplant. In 1997, he finally received a Heart and Lung transplant at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He spent four months in the hospital while waiting on his transplant, then had to live in the Ronald McDonald house four 2 more months while recovering. His experiences while in Philadelphia have shaped the way he creates his art. Jack’s main theme in his art is “Healing through art”. He uses his art to help himself deal with his experiences. Jack went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Art with a concentration in Illustration. He has won several awards and had numerous shows since. Jack still lives in Shelby and works out of his studio located at his house. Jack is available for commission work as well as shows.
